Description
Most canvas totes are open buckets. This waxed canvas tote bag closes with a full zip top, so a laptop, a book and a sweater stay put on the train or in the trunk. Carry it by the leather handles, or clip on the removable shoulder strap when your hands are full.
It measures about 14.2 x 11.8 x 5.1 inches (36 x 30 x 13 cm) and weighs 1.8 lb (0.8 kg). That is enough for a laptop up to 13 inches, a book, a charger and a light layer, which covers a workday, a library run or a weekend market. Slip pockets inside hold a phone and small items. A 15 inch laptop is too wide for this tote. The items shown in the photos are for display and are not included.
The body is cotton canvas treated with wax. It creases and darkens where you handle it, so it looks better broken in. The handles, center tab and zip pull are crazy horse leather, stitched and riveted onto the canvas. The wax sheds light rain, but the bag is not waterproof.
Brush off dry dirt and spot clean with cold water and a soft brush. Do not machine wash it. When the wax looks patchy, rub in a canvas wax bar. It comes in khaki, gray, black or army green, all with brown leather trim; waxed canvas varies slightly from piece to piece.
