Description
This waxed canvas duffle bag is built for short trips, commutes to the station and quick overnight stays. Choose gray, brown or khaki waxed canvas on a leather base, with leather top handles and a long shoulder strap, so you can carry it by hand or over the shoulder from the city sidewalk to the airport gate.
The waxed finish helps the canvas shed light rain and splashes on your commute or on a platform. It is water-resistant, not waterproof, so keep it out of heavy downpours and let it dry at room temperature if it gets soaked. Waxed canvas creases and shows light marks over time, and that worn look is part of its appeal.
That is a carry-on style weekender size for a change of clothes, shoes and toiletries on a two or three day trip.
The main zipper opens to a single roomy compartment with a plain dark lining and a small inside pocket, so shirts, a pair of shoes and a toiletry bag fit without fuss. Props in the photos are not included.
The handles and the base are made of leather, the two places that get the most handling. The base protects the canvas when you set the bag down on a floor, a luggage rack or a train platform.
A shoulder strap with metal swivel hooks clips onto the bag, and the hooks turn freely so the strap lies flat on your shoulder. Carry it by the handles for a short walk, or sling it over the shoulder through an airport or station, leaving a hand free for your phone or ticket.
The bag comes in three colors. Gray is a dark charcoal waxed canvas with brown leather trim. Brown is a deeper caramel brown canvas on a dark brown leather base. Khaki is a light sand tan canvas with dark brown leather handles and base. The shade can look slightly different from one bag to the next, which is normal for waxed fabric.
