A crazy horse leather camera backpack that opens from the front onto a padded, removable camera insert, with a separate top section for a 15.6 in laptop, straps for a tripod and side pockets for a bottle and a power bank.

Description

One bag for the camera and the commute

The Aperture splits in two: a padded camera section at the bottom that opens from the front, and a top compartment for a laptop, cables and a jacket. Shoot on the way to work without carrying a second bag.

What fits inside?

The removable padded insert, which you can take out to use the bag as a regular daypack, has adjustable dividers for a mirrorless or DSLR body and two or three lenses, and the inside of the front panel holds memory cards, filters and a notebook. The top section takes a laptop up to 15.6 in. A tripod straps under the base, a side pocket holds a water bottle, and a zip side pocket fits a power bank or phone. Take the insert out and it becomes a regular leather daypack. Camera, lenses and tripod in the photos show what fits; they are not included, and you receive the backpack only. How big and how heavy?

It stands 16.9 in tall, 12.6 in wide and 5.5 in deep, the size of a standard daypack, and weighs about 4.2 lb empty. The back panel is padded and ventilated, and the shoulder straps adjust.

Leather that ages with you

Care & use

Overview

Crazy horse leather is a pull-up cowhide finished with oils and wax. It lightens where it bends and darkens with handling, so every bag ages a little differently.

Cleaning

Wipe dust off with a soft dry cloth. For marks, use a slightly damp cloth and let the leather dry naturally.

Conditioning

Rub a small amount of leather balm into the surface every 3 to 6 months, then buff. Light scratches can often be warmed out with your fingers.

Moisture and heat

If it gets wet, blot it and let it air dry away from radiators and direct sun. Never use a hair dryer.

Storage

Store it stuffed with paper in a breathable dust bag, away from heat and humidity.
