Daypack size: how many liters do you need?

Capacity is listed in liters on each product page. For daily carry, smaller is usually better: a bag that is too big gets overpacked and pulls on your back.

Leather, canvas or waxed canvas?

A leather everyday backpack looks the sharpest and darkens into a patina over the years, which makes it the natural pick if the same bag goes to the office. Canvas is lighter and more relaxed, the easiest bag to throw around on a weekend. Waxed canvas sits in between: it sheds light rain, softens with use and pairs with leather trim for a vintage look. Roll-top designs add room on top when you need to carry a little more.

Daily daypack or work backpack?

The line is thin, and several bags here do both. If your day is mostly office and meetings, a structured work backpack with a dedicated laptop compartment is the better tool. If your day mixes commuting, errands and time outdoors, a lighter daypack is more comfortable and easier to live with.

Care that keeps it looking right

Empty the bag every few weeks and brush out crumbs and dust. Wipe leather with a dry cloth and condition it once or twice a year. Spot-clean canvas with a damp cloth rather than a washing machine, and re-wax waxed canvas when it stops beading water. Let any bag dry at room temperature, never on a heater.
