Description
This leather bound journal suits anyone who prefers paper to a screen: travelers keeping a log, writers drafting by hand, artists sketching on location. The signatures are stitched into a genuine leather cover, and the pages keep a natural deckle edge, the soft, uneven border you find on handmade paper. It is unisex and made to be carried, not stored.
The journal measures about 6 x 8 inches (15 x 20 cm), close to a paperback, so it slips into a tote or a jacket pocket. It holds about 200 blank pages (100 sheets). There are no ruled lines, which gives you room for sketches, maps and loose handwriting. The paper has a warm, toasted tone and a slight tooth.
Ballpoint, gel pens, pencils and most fountain pens work well on this paper. Handmade paper can feather with very wet inks, so test your pen on the last page before you start.
The cover is genuine leather in a warm brown that darkens and softens with handling, so marks and creases are part of the look. The binding is stitched, which means the pages are fixed and the journal is not refillable. A long leather tie wraps around the book to keep it shut in a bag, and it can hold a loose note or ticket against the page.
